Quote of the Week

Since I don't know what the lesson is on, I thought I'd share one of my favorite poems with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

"Daffodils"

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

By William Wordsworth (1770-1850)

Lesson for 10/19/08

Hey ladies! This week we don't have a set lesson you can study. The Bishop will be giving next weeks lesson and I don't know what he's planning on. It's a great opportunity to pick your own topic to study for the week though! Enjoy your weeks!

Cooking with Molly TONIGHT!

Sisters,
This is just a reminder about Cooking with Molly that will be tonight at 7:00 at Ashley Edward's house.  She will be making a number of recipes featuring a common ingredient perfect for fall: Apples!
Do any of you remember that wonderful musical moment we had a few weeks ago when Linnea Farnsworth's friend played the piano and sang for us?  His name is Stephen Nelson.  It was wonderful wasn't it.  Our musical moment was by no means a comercial of advertisement, but we just wanted to let you know he has a website-just incase any of you wanted to check it out: Stephennelson.music.com.  His CD is available at the BYU Bookstore.

to a wicked person."
David Berg

Hello Ladies!
The lesson for October 12th is #18 in the JS Manual. I don't have mine handy at the moment, so I'm not sure what page that is, but that's the joy of the Table of Contents right? See you next week!

If you've lost your manual, I just found an awesome link for you! You can access the Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith manual online! Just go here.

At a CES Fireside in 2005, Elder Oaks said, "...a message given by a General Authority at a general conference-a message prepared under the influence of the Spirit to further the work of the lord-is not given to be enjoyed.  It is given to inspire, to edify, to challenge, or to correct.  It is given to be heard under the influence of the Spirit of the Lord, with the intended result that the listener learns from the talk and from the Spirit what he or she should do about it."

Sisters, of course it is one of our greatest desires that you will enjoy this conference, but even greater that you will be edified, lifted, inspired, changed, and a better sister because of what the Spirit will teach you.

We challenge each of you to watch/listen to the words of our prophets prayerfully, and to be a little better (as President Hinckley would put it) after this conference.
